Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of PLASMA & OXY OPERATOR in our Russel Metals Processing Saskatoon, SK location.
Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.
Position Summary
Assist and support plant personnel to efficiently operate the Plasma & Oxy machine for cutting/processing of sheets and plates to customer specifications achieving quality standards, production requirements, and timelines. Perform all tasks safely and in keeping with the workplace health and safety requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Operation of Crane and Hi-Definition Plasma and Oxy Machine
- Responsible for all set up and daily preventative maintenance
- Knowledge of computer programming
- Process planning and CNC programming for machinery
- Responsible for meeting daily production and on time requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and conduct quality inspections
- Ability to meet specific tasks at hand
Education and Skills Required:
- Previous experience on a Plasma & Oxy Machine is a definite asset.
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Work experience: 0 - 3 years related experience
- Shift work required
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Ability to operate the overhead crane / forklift.
- Proficient in performing mathematical calculations with ability to read a tape measure / caliper.

- Problem-solving abilities
- Self motivated, results oriented.
