We are currently seeking someone who is eager to learn, committed to having a safe and healthy workplace and to ensuring the delivery of quality products for the position of Administration Supervisor in our Stoney Creek, ON Branch.

Job Responsibilities

  • Providing efficient and timely administrative support to the branch.
  • Supervision administrative personnel and functions.
  • Providing accurate inventory functions and controls.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and standard operating procedures are being followed.
  • Prepared oracle expense payables for approval. Review Metalware freight payables.
  • Office supply ordering.
  • Review distribution of monthly reports and provide necessary files at month end to regional office.
  • Assisting in internal and external audits.
  • Coordination and implantation of branch inventory counts.
  • Additional administration requirements as needed (fully cross trained on all admin functions) Inventory adjustments, billing, credit memos, material processing, IMS scanning, receiving, payables, and reception.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all employees work in compliance with OH&S acts, regulations and codes and the Russel Metals Corporate Safety policies and procedures; Advise workers of potential and actual hazards; Take every reasonable precaution in the circumstances for the protection of workers; Ensure all incidents are reported, investigated and that recommendations for prevention are effective; Ensure all employees are properly trained and qualified to perform their duties.

Education and Skills Required

  • Computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Strong analytical, time management, detailed and organizational skills required
  • Self-motivated, professional, and courteous
  • Effective communication skills (both oral and written)
  • A team player, enthusiastic and possess a high level of integrity
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to provide mentoring for administration, accounting, and sales staff

Preferable

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing business cycle transactions
  • Managerial /Supervisory experience.
  • 1 – 2 years previous office experience an asset, business certificate preferred
  • Post-Secondary education in business admin or a related field.
