Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of CAD Programmer/ Estimator in our London, ON location.
Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce parts and assembly drawings using AutoCAD.
- Nest and quote parts for tube laser, plasma, plasma bevel, oxy, drilling and saw.
- Maintain drawings through the revision change process and drawing control system
- Prepare time and material estimates for parts including material, labour and lead-time
- Communicate with sales reps to resolve any issues or discrepancies between sales orders and customer drawings
- Focus on continuous improvement within an ISO 9001 environment
- Schedule processing orders per machine and communicate with sales and operations.
- Work under minimal supervision and understand the importance of producing quality work under strict deadlines.
Education and Skills Required:
- Experience as a CAD Programmer in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Familiar with metal processing and fabrication technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience with 3D modeling and nesting software
- Programming experience with multi axis machines
- Understanding of laser, plasma and saw cutting technology
- Experience within an ISO 9001 environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
