The company conducts business in three metals distribution segments: metals service centers, energy products and steel distributors.

Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of Plasma Operator in our Surrey, BC location.

Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation (including cannabis).

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operation of Crane and Hi-Definition Plasma Machine
  • Responsible for all set up and preventative maintenance
  • Knowledge of computer programming
  • Process planning and CNC programming for machinery
  • Responsible for meeting daily production and on time requirements
  • Ability to read blueprints and conduct quality inspections
  • Ability to meet specific tasks at hand

Education and Skills Required:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Effective communication skills
  • Packaging material to customer specifications
  • Advanced problem solving abilities
  • Self motivated, results oriented
  • Previous experience working with manual beveling tools and portable flame cutting systems is an asset.
