Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of Shipper / Receiver in our Russel Metals Processing Winnipeg, East location.
Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that customer orders are shipped on time and according to due date.
- Manage deliveries by organizing loads, locating, and contracting trucks and searching for the best truck rates.
- Complete bill of lading according to picking tickets and identify discrepancies in quantities and weights.
- Receive and respond to customer shipping inquiries and complaints.
- Liaise with plant supervisor to ensure proper scheduling of orders for late/early pick-ups and deliveries.
- Loading of trucks by forklift.
- Recognize schedule of internal process in order to develop scheduled deliveries.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year shipping experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certified.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Metals industry product knowledge is preferable.
Hourly Rate Range: $30.76
Shift: 11:00 am – 7:00 pm (can change as necessary)
