Working under the direction of the Director of Fleet Safety and Compliance, the Administrative Assistant (Health and Safety) will help support transportation departments and compliance across all locations of Russel Metals and its divisions. The primary focus of this role is to administer and support our vehicle telematics including but not limited to electronic driver logs, vehicle dashcam and response center as well as regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate has both technical abilities to assist our internal customers with various aspects of each system and solid administrative skills.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide technical assistance, training and monitoring of various telematic applications including electronic driver log compliance (Geotab, Omnitracs, Zonar) and dashcam applications (Solera Smartdrive).
- Provide technical assistance, training, monitoring and troubleshooting the system issues for telematic equipment and dashcam equipment and deliver recommendations to set up and/or maintain systems.
- Provide support for new equipment installations and re-installs (Smartdrive, Geotab, Zonar).
- Assist in the development of new training course materials as required in both English and French.
- Compile data from the above systems and create quarterly and monthly reporting.
- Maintain log of collision / incident data.
- Collaborate with H&S Admins to create posters, newsletters, visual aids and other communications.
- Work with subject matter experts to document procedures for driver safety and compliance systems.
- Provide administrative support for the Director of Fleet Safety and Compliance.
- Some travel may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Sound administrative skills with proven ability to collaborate across departments and meet deadlines.
- Must be proficient in MS Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Teams.
- Ability to learn and support new technologies and applications as needed, including troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex information in a clear user-friendly manner.
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
