We are currently seeking a motivated and results oriented individual for the position of Logistic Coordinator within our McCabe Steel Branch located in Hamilton, ON.

Job Description:

The Scheduler/Logistics Coordinator provides a quick, accurate and safe means of shipping and receiving steel at the branch. Quoting and scheduling is also an important part of this role. This is a full-time, permanent position working out of an office setting that reports directly to the Branch Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving

  • Review packing slips and assign a tag number and receive into customer’s account
  • Responsible for incoming inspection of material and documentation.

Shipping

  • Making sure truck is picking up proper orders and paperwork is signed
  • Ensure that all orders are shipped as per their specs. And that proper shipping documents accompany all orders.
  • Liaise with shift supervisor and order entry with regards to back orders and partial shipments.
  • Receive and respond to customer shipping inquiries and complaints.
  • Responsible for final approval of orders.
  • Ensure all drivers are following Russel Metals safety requirements while on site.

Order Entry and Customer Service

  • Keying all orders for blasting and flattening
  • Ensure all orders (shipped and received) are entered into ERP accordingly
  • Communicating with Customers status orders.

Education and Skills Required:

  • Minimum one (1) year shipping/receiving experience
  • Strong communication skills with the ability work well with multiple teams
  • Able to read and follow printed and verbal instructions
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate with ability to learn new systems quickly. Able to use computer terminal and related functions pertaining to the job
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Metals industry product knowledge is preferable (general line and structural steel products)
  • Basic drawing/blueprint reading capability.

Preferable:

  • Post-secondary in Business Administration or a related field.
