Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of Shipping & Receiving supervisor in our Regina, SK location.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise daily operations of the Shipping, Receiving, and Order Entry teams to ensure efficient workflow, accuracy, and compliance with company procedures.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor team performance, conduct regular evaluations, and address performance issues promptly and professionally.
- Act as the primary liaison between warehouse staff, logistics partners, customer service, and management
Receiving
- Oversee the review of packing slips, assignment of tag numbers, and ensure timely and accurate receipt of materials into customer accounts.
- Ensure all incoming materials meet quality standards, and verify documentation is complete and accurate.
- Implement and monitor procedures to minimize receiving errors and discrepancies.
Shipping
- Supervise outbound shipping operations, ensuring orders are picked, packaged, and shipped in accordance with customer specifications and delivery deadlines.
- Confirm that all shipments are accompanied by the correct documentation and are compliant with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with logistics providers and ensure all drivers comply with Russel Metals safety protocols while on site.
- Review and authorize final shipment approvals, including partial shipments and back orders, in collaboration with relevant departments
Customer Service
- Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding order status, delays, or issues, and handle escalated shipping-related inquiries or complaints.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse environment, with at least 1–2 years in a team lead or supervisory role preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage daily operational performance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across departments and interact with external partners professionally.
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experienced in ERP systems and warehouse management software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and compliance standards
Preferred:
- Previous experience in the metals industry with product knowledge of general line and structural steel products
