Color Steels Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of Shipper/Receiver in our Thornhill, ON location. This position will include safely operating the tow motor and overhead crane, accurately complete associated paperwork to prepare and load goods for timely shipments. Receiving incoming materials/goods, as per the company policy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Have a valid tow motor and crane certification to safely load or unload trailers and trucks as required and take off the line as required
- Verify counts on production copies with actual product
- Visually inspect for any non-conformances
- Follow all required procedures
- Report all problems to your supervisor or lead hand when they occur
- Perform daily check lists.
- Other sundries duties as assigned by supervisor or lead hand
Safety Responsibility and Accountability:
- Ensure Dock and warehouse safety training is followed.
- Report all hazards/problems to your Supervisor when they occur.
- Report injury/incident to your Supervisor immediately.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety act, and good housekeeping practices.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) – Hi- viz vest, gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hardhat in the plant area
- Abide by all plant rules, safety rules and regulations of the Company
Essential Skills/Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing experiences an asset
- Good organization and communication skills
- Flexibility to work afternoons or occasional overtime
- Team Player and Self starter
