We are currently seeking a motivated individual for the position of Plasma Operator within our Nisku, AB location. This is a full-time, permanent position that reports directly to the Plant Coordinator.
Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo pre-employment testing.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Cut and package steel parts as per customer specs
- Inspect and measure all material to verify conformance to customer specifications using instruments such as tape measures, calipers and micrometers
- Ensure that equipment is operating properly
- Ensure all pre-shift inspections are completed
- Operate overhead cranes & Forklifts
- Perform weekly, monthly & annual maintenance on machines
- Work efficiently and safely to ensure deadlines are met
Education and Skills Required:
- Minimum 2 years experience operating plasma/oxy fuel torches
- Previous experience in a steel shop considered an asset
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Forklift & Overhead Crane experience an asset
- Proficient in performing mathematical calculations with ability to read a tape measure / caliper
- Reliable
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shop drawings and other documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Self Motivated & Customer Service driven
- May be required to work rotating shifts
Shift Hours: 7-3:30pm, 3:00-11:30pm, 11pm-7:30am
Wage: 35.67/Hr
