We are currently seeking a motivated and results oriented individual for the position of Shipper/Dispatcher within our Cambridge, ON Branch. This is a full-time, permanent position that reports directly to the operations manager.

Compensation: $46,000 - $53,000

Vacancy Status: This position is for a new headcount 

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that customer orders are shipped on time.
  • Coordinate deliveries by organizing loads based on product mix, number of deliveries (drops) and geography.
  • Update order status in Metalware.
  • Completion of shipping documentation.
  • Receive and respond to customer shipping inquiries and complaints.
  • Liaise with plant supervision and scheduling to ensure proper scheduling of orders for late/early pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely information is provided to sales, purchasing, production, and Management teams.
Requirements:
  • Shipping experience in a distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable transportation legislation (i.e. weights / capacities, load securement, hours of service).
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Metals industry product knowledge is preferable.
  • Knowledge of Metalware would be an asset.
