Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual to train for the position of Operations Assistant in our London, ON location. The successful candidate will be working day shifts.

Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy
- Support daily operational processes and controls in accordance with Russel Metals policies.
- Work with Supervisors and Management to meet daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals.

Provide backup support in RMI Trucks/load scheduling, Receiving, and production‑supervisory functions as needed.
- Perform general administrative duties including data entry, document management, and communication support.
- Handle basic bookkeeping tasks: AP/AR support, invoice matching/coding, reconciliation, ERP data accuracy, and maintaining financial/operational records.
- Operations or plant experience (Metals/Service Center preferred).
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word) and ERP familiarity.
- Highly accurate, organized, and detail‑focused.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Post‑secondary education in Business, Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- Bookkeeping or Health & Safety certification.
- Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory or lead‑hand experience (asset).
Salary Range: $45,500 - $50,500
