Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a motivated and results oriented individual for the position of Logistics/Receiver Coordinator at our Winnipeg North branch. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Branch Address: 1359 St James St, Winnipeg MB R3H 0K9 

Duration: 6 months contact with the possibility of extending into a full-time permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule inbound & outbound truck loads by product type
  • Ensure all documents are prepared and organized prior to truck arrivals.
  • Maintain the integrity of the shipping & receiving schedules.
  • Route all local freight requirements onto scheduled outbound loads.
  • Daily communication of exceptions for customer on time delivery or otherwise to the appropriate salesperson.
  • Coordinate interbranch materials.
  • Invoice all shipped orders.
  • Verify purchase orders against incoming material and releases
  • Verify that material matches incoming paperwork, and ensure that any defects & deficiencies are noted
  • Print and sort barcoded tags per material description, item codes, heat numbers, PO numbers, bills of lading etc.
  • Scan, file and retrieve mill test reports manually and electronically, including the use of imaging system
  • Ensure accurate and timely information is provided to sales, purchasing, production, and Management teams.
  • Other administrative duties as required.

Shifts: Details:  Afternoon 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Education and Skills Required:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability work well with multiple teams
  • Must have previous experience in logistics/receiving.
  • Able to read and follow printed and verbal instructions
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Able to use computer terminal and related functions pertaining to the job, including barcoding system utilizing handheld scanners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of RMI trucks and Metalware is an asset.
  • Metals industry product knowledge is preferable (general line and structural steel products)
