Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the full-time permanent position of Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) in our Halifax, NS location. This position plays a key role in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient operations through equipment maintenance and repair. 

Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment
  • Install and maintain mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Operate basic machine shop equipment, including lathes and drill presses
  • Use welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively
  • Perform preventative maintenance and complete required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and procedures

Education and Skills Required:

  • Valid Industrial Millwright Certificate of Qualification (or equivalent Red Seal certification)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Previous experience working on overhead cranes, metal profile cutting machines, automated metal saws and press brakes would be considered an asset. 

Schedule: This position is primarily day shift. Occasional call-ins and weekend work may be required and will be compensated as overtime.

Compensation will be based on experience and training.
