Job Description:

We are currently seeking someone who is eager to learn, committed to having a safe and healthy workplace and to ensuring the delivery of quality products for the position of Shipping Receiving Clerk in our Stoney Creek, ON Branch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that customer orders are shipped on time and according to the due date
  • Manage deliveries by organizing loads, locating and contracting trucks and searching for the best truck rates
  • Check purchase orders against incoming material and customer orders if applicable
  • Complete bill of landing according to picking tickets and identify discrepancies in quantities and weights
  • Accurately receive inbound material while maintaining traceability of product
  • Liaise with plant supervisor to ensure proper scheduling of orders for late/early pick-ups and deliveries
  • Recognize schedule of internal process to develop scheduled deliveries
  • Provide Contractors with registration and sign-in directions.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies in the warehouse.
  • Provide support to various departments including administration.
  • Provide direction to customers and drivers on plant safety policies and procedures when picking up and delivering loads

Education and Skills Required:

  • Minimum 1 year shipping experience in a manufacturing/unionized environment.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Metals industry product knowledge is preferable.
  • Knowledge of Metalware would be an asset.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000
